"A
FORETASTE OF THE HEAVEN ABOVE" - SINFONIA MOSAIC's HYMN
SINGING FESTIVAL
Vancouver, BC (May 21, 2008)
On May 17, 2008 the Hymn singing
festival hosted by SINFONIA MOSAIC and Chinese Christian Church
Music Institute for Worship (Canada) was successfully concluded.
The theme of this sing-along is "O FOR A THOUSAND TONGUES
TO SING" titled after one of Wesley's hymn.
Over 1,000 enthusiastic congregation
members participated in this sing-along. The SINFONIA MOSAIC
CHRISTIAN SINGERS, SINFONIA MOSAIC, organist Dr.
ZION WU were under the direction of conductor Dr. HERBERT
TSANG to share the power of congregational singing. As one
of the participant comments, "Singing hymns with so many
people together, it surely gives us a foretaste of the heaven
above!"
Rev. MATTHEW TODD of the Port
Moody Pacific Grace MB Church was the master of ceremonies. He
leaded the congregation to experience the power of
congregational singing and the understanding of the background of
such valuable treasure of our Christian heritage.
This hymn festival was a joint project
between SINFONIA MOSAIC and Chinese
Christian Church Music Institute for Worship (Canada). Both
groups are registered non-profit organizations serving the
Christian community in Vancouver, British Columbia. It
is our prayer that we will be able to continue the mission of
this ministry: to "creatively bring Hymns to all Christians
in a cross-cultural and inter-generational setting for
worshipping our LORD". Hope you
will be able to join in this event in the future.
